This beautiful and contemporary tote is made by indigenous artisans in Oaxaca, Mexico. The artisans use traditional weaving techniques to create this elegant and practical tote using recycled plastic, making it waterproof and thus, ideal to bring by the sea.

This cross body bag is handmade in the hilly areas of Nepal. The local women have for centuries used the traditional technique of back-strap weaving in the production of clothing and other handmade items. Today, these traditional forms of weaving have developed into an alternative means of generating income. Back-strap weaving has blossomed into an opportunistic cottage industry for hundreds of women in Nepal and its regions.

This Bolga basket is handwoven by women in Ghana. Made from 270 recycled plastic bags and over 2 yards of recycled African fabric, the artisans use traditional basket weaving techniques to bring it to life.

Due to the uniqueness of the fabrics used, colour variation from the photo will occur. The Ghanaian weavers have been trained on colour theory to ensure each basket has a cohesive and beautiful design.

Versatile messenger bag made by women in Chengdu, West China. The artisans behind this bag are often disadvantaged Tibetans who have little or no chance of getting into the marketplace and making a living for themselves. The People of the Andes have always relied on the natural materials from their environment in order to survive in their harsh mountainous landscape. Clothes were made from the fine fibres of llamas and alpacas, providing warmth and protection from the elements.
Today, the traditional weaving techniques still exist and a source of cultural pride. This Pure Art mandala Hobo Bag is handmade by women from the Sacred Valley who are using ancestral techniques of spinning and weaving sheep and alpaca wool. The weavers work from their home and take pride in maintaining a sense of community and cultural heritage in the process.
